Atlanta Hawks: 3 improvements Bogdan Bogdanovic must make
By Brice Lewis
Atlanta Hawks offseason improvement for Bogdan Bogdanovic No.1) Keep improving his playmaking
Last year Bogdanovic was asked to play a multitude of roles for the Hawks due to the injuries they suffered. When Young went down with an ankle injury during the regular season, Bogdanovic was even asked to run the point for the team.
He averaged 3.3 assists a game which is quite respectable for a shooter. He needs to continue to improve that. The reason is that he is the secondary playmaker in the lineup with the starters. As such, the ability to play off each other is key.
This then can help Young play more of an off-ball role if Bogdanovic can run the offense on certain plays and sets. This can help the offense not be stagnant and continue to have ball movement, as it is not always centered on Young.
Then you never know what Nate McMillian will do with his lineup options. He may sometimes run different units out there with Bogdanovic at the point. These are all potential situations on the table and him improving his playmaking simply makes him more dangerous.
Bogdanovic isn’t just a shooter, he has an all-around game that people don’t talk about. This is something that led to him gaining trust from the coaching staff and his teammates. He has truly shown us his bag offensively, which is most probably more than what people expected.
