The Atlanta Hawks lucked out last season when it came to signing Bogdan Bogdanovic. The Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a trade with the Sacramento Kings to secure the services of Bogdanovic but the problem was that Bogdanovic did not agree to the trade which is the crucial step in a sign and trade.

The Hawks signed Bogdanovic to a four-year deal worth $72 million with the last year being a player option. He was one of many veterans that the Hawks bought in the last offseason and they made all the difference to the franchise.

He was one of the players who took the Hawks from outside the playoffs to qualify directly for the post-season. This was a surprise for most of the NBA given that they were expected to be a play-in team at best. Fortunately, after Nate McMillan took over, they stunned the NBA with their play and almost made the NBA Finals.

Bogdan Bogdanovic had bad luck with injury last season for the Atlanta Hawks

Bogdanovic struggled with his shot in the first part of the season but then seemed to fall over in the middle of the court in an innocuous-looking incident. Unfortunately for Bogdanovic and the Hawks, he fractured his kneecap and would miss the next 25 games which had a huge impact on the rotations for the Hawks.

He also injured his knee in the playoffs and was not the same player for most of the postseason. He showed true heroism and class by doing everything he could for the team, he just could not shoot or run as well. What he did do was lead the playoffs in steals. This shows that if one area of your game is not working, you can still have a positive influence on the contest.
