Atlanta Hawks: John Collins needs to improve his defense to be on the same level as Anthony Davis

There are many arguments that can be made as to why John Collins is better than a lot of other power forwards in the league. However, there is not much that can be said to convince anyone that he is a better player than Anthony Davis.

Davis has been a top-level two-way player in the league since he entered back in 2013. He has only averaged less than 20 points per game once in his career, and that was in his rookie season. Davis has also averaged double figures in rebounds in all but three seasons.

He has led the league in blocks three times in his career and has been top five in six of his seasons. His 2.3 blocks per game is the highest active average in the NBA.. This has led to Davis being named to four All-Defensive teams and also four All-NBA teams so far. He was also a key member of the Los Angeles Lakers championship team in 2020.

Davis is now also adding the 3-point shot to his wonderful arsenal of offense. This means that he can hurt you both inside and out. However, if he misses, he is an incredible rebounder. Collins has a fair way to go to get to this level.
