Atlanta Hawks goal for Lou Williams No. 1) Outplay the youngsters

The Hawks have a large number of up-and-coming guards. Apart from Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Kevin Huerter, they also have a tremendous group behind them. Delon Wright is not a lot younger but he is compared to Williams.

The Hawks also have Skylar Mays that they bought back on a two-way deal and they also drafted Sharife Cooper. This is a large number of guards to stay ahead of but Williams has been in this league for a long time now. He is not going to give up his minutes without a fight.

He was crucial last season for the Hawks and as they are in win-now mode, he is going to get minutes assuming that he is able to produce at the highest level still. He adds such a different point of view for the opposition to defend that he needs to be on the court.

The veteran leadership that Williams provides is also a true benefit for the Hawks. As he is nearing the end of his career, he is going to be desperate to win a championship, this is why he re-signed with the Hawks, after all, he sees his best chance of winning to be with them.
