Of all the Detroit Pistons players from the Bad Boy’s era, the one who stands out as the most like Bogdanovic is Joe Dumars. He quietly went about his business, defending his player and hitting the 3-ball to help space the floor.

He had a lightning-quick point guard in the legendary Isiah Thomas who had a very similar mindset to Young. He was seen as too small and wanted to prove his doubters wrong. It did not take long for his teammates to realize that Thomas was going to take them places.

Dumars was a tremendous shooter who had to work hard throughout his career to get the range that Bogdanovic has already shown. Dumars was effective from the mid-range and he used this to his and his team’s advantage. He was also a te4nacious defender, having to defend players such as Michael Jordan over his career.

Bogdanovic showed towards the end of the regular season that he was good enough to defend players like Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, and Seth Curry. None of these names are as big as Jordan’s with Westbrook being the best of them but if Bogdanovic can be as good a two-way player as Dumars was, this will be a massive boost for the Hawks.
