Legends Atlanta Hawks wing Cam Reddish needs to study No. 1) Stacey Augmon

Stacey Augmon spent five seasons with the Hawks where he was a tremendous two-way player. He averaged 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 30.5 minutes per game. He was a key piece of the franchise during those years.

After he was traded by the Hawks in his fifth season, Augmon had another ten seasons in the league but was never an offensive threat after that. He did not average over 4.6 points or 1.3 assists per game after the trade.

What Augmon did do was defend really well. He was nicknamed the Plastic Man because he had the ability to stretch and contort his body to make some incredible defensive plays. While he did not average huge steal numbers, he was always a pest on that end of the court.

Reddish is already a demon on defense. He can read the play better than most in the league and while he could learn a lot from Augmon’s career, it is offensively where Reddish can study. Augmon was a 48.8 percent shooter for the Hawks, taking the shots that were made available for him and not forcing it too much, which Reddish is sometimes guilty of.
