Legends for Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young to study No. 3) Isiah Thomas

So that story goes that Bill Laimbeer saw Isiah Thomas play and decided to attach himself to him so that he would have the best chance of winning a championship. This was the impact that Thomas had on those around him.

Thomas had such a drive about him that players were drawn to him as they believed in the way that he played the game. Young needs to have this magnetism around him to draw the best talent to the Hawks over the next few years to help keep their championship window open.

Thomas was the point guard of the Detroit Pistons era known as the Bad Boys. He was the lightning-quick point guard who let his ball do the talking. He exploited the opportunities created by others using their skills and his speed which is very similar to Young.

While Young is already doing this, Thomas had elite decision-making ability which is an area o the game that Young is working on. We saw the development of Young in this area last season but there is always further room to grow, especially as he has only completed three seasons.
