Goals for Atlanta Hawks sophomore Onyeka Okongwu No. 3) Hit 70 percent from the line

There were two issues that the Hawks centers had on offense last season. The first was that neither Okongwu nor Capela had any range on their shot. The second issue was that neither of them were particularly strong from the free-throw line last season.

Okongwu only took 57 shots from the free-throw line, hitting them at 63.2 percent. Prior to Nate McMillan taking over as head coach, Okongwu was only making his free throws at 60.0 percent which was one of the worst marks on the team.

Things did not get much better after McMillan took over, but they did improve. He hit 64.3 percent of his attempts from the line which shows that as his confidence grows with more time on the court, Okoagwu has the ability to improve almost every aspect of his game.

As such, hitting 70.0 percent of his free throws, once he returns from injury, should be an achievable goal. If he can do this, then he will be a greater benefit for the Hawks down the stretch of games. Capela will probably not improve his percentage a great deal so Okongwu might find himself playing some good minutes at the end of games if he can achieve this.
