The Atlanta Hawks had a tremendous season in 2020-21. They made it to within two games of making the NBA Finals which is a tremendous achievement. What is even better is they were able to achieve this without Cam Reddish for the majority of the season.

What is even more impressive is that the Hawks’ had one of the best perimeter defenses in the league. Reddish is their best off-ball defender who uses his 7’1″ wingspan to great effect, getting his hands into passing lanes, causing deflections and steals which helps the team no end.

Reddish was able to come back for the end of the playoffs and he was needed. De’Andre Hunter played the first-round series against the New York Knicks and was then out again due to the meniscus tear which ruined his season.

The Atlanta Hawks need a healthy Cam Reddish to beat the best in the Eastern Conference.

Reddish came back during the series against the Milwaukee Bucks and put in a truly historic performance in his first game back. In fact, his two-way play has the potential to push the Hawks to a title if he is able to play like this for the whole season which will give him tremendous confidence.

If he can impress the coaching staff in training camp then there is a case that can be made for Reddish to start in place of Bogdan Bogdanovic. This could be a fairly steep hill for Reddish to climb but anything could happen given that it is the start of the season. Now, let’s take a look at three goals for Cam Reddish in the 2021-22 season
