Season goal for Atlanta Hawks wing De’Andre Hunter No. 1) Get/Stay healthy
As mentioned in the previous slide, Hunter’s season was simply ruined by injury. He started out so well but during a game against the Washington Wizards, Hunter came off with apparent knee soreness. While that did not sound too bad, we all know what it turned into.
The Hawks were without Hunter for some of the most crucial parts of the season. Imagine, if you will, the Hawks having a healthy Hunter during the series against the Milwaukee Bucks. His defense would have been crucial in stopping Khris Middleton and this could have had a huge impact on the series result.
He is not going to be a full participant in training camp as the Hawks are still managing his recovery from the latest surgery. While the Hawks are looking at a return for Hunter at the start of the season, if they need to they will hold him out of games until he is ready to return.
If the Hawks miss Hunter for the start of the season, this is not a huge issue if he returns fully recovered from the injury. It will be more important to have Hunter healthy for the playoffs when they are taking on some of the best wings in the association at this time.
