Improvements for Atlanta Hawks forward Danilo Gallinari No. 1) Defense

Gallinari had a 114.2 defensive rating this year and is someone who isn’t known for his defense. He did hold his own at times when needed and is a big body who can bang a bit in the post. He did have periods through where he had his struggles on that end.

The biggest thing for Gallo after being in the league as long as he has is the tricks and trade of defense. He isn’t the best Laterally or with his athleticism but he can be smart and crafty. If there is one thing Gallo can do is to try to draw more charges, which is the cerebral part of defense.

If Gallo is someone who can either pull the chair on post-ups or take more charges this will have a positive effect on the Hawks team defense. This will help coach Nate McMillian if he needs some offense but doesn’t want to lose too much defense.

Gallo is capable of holding up his own defensively and just adding those tiny things can go a long way. At this point in his career, Gallinari is a player who can improve only so much but can still hold his own and be effective.
