Atlanta Hawks goals for guard Delon Wright No. 1) Establish himself in the rotation

It is the goal of every new player to establish himself in the rotation of the team that he is a new member of. As a traded player, the team usually has an idea of what they want your role to be and if you are a veteran, this usually means that you have shown some of what you are capable of.

The good thing for Wright is that, as mentioned earlier, he has been on coach McMillan’s radar for a long time. While this does not guarantee him a healthy amount of minutes in the current Hawks rotation, it can not hurt.

What Wright has in his favor is that he is so versatile. Yes, he will be called on to run the second unit, that is a given. However, this will not be his only role as he can play both on and off the ball. This means that he can play with Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Lou Williams, and Kevin Huerter to name a few.

It is this versatility that will mean that Wright will continue to get minutes and not be pigeon-holed as Rondo was. He has the ability to produce for the Hawks, he just needs to find his niche within the rotation.
