The Atlanta Hawks are in a tremendous place moving forward. As discussed previously on the site they have one of the best young cores in the entire NBA. This season Bleacher Report rated Trae Young and John Collins in the top 25 players under 25 years of age.

Well, the NBA executives were recently surveyed, and half of them rated the Hawks young core the best in the game at the moment. Given that the Hawks were two games away from the NBA finals last season, this is a great sign for the future of the franchise.

The Hawks have only five players who are over the age of 30. These are Danilo Gallinari, Delon Wright, Gorgui Dieng, Lou Williams, and Solomon Hill. All of these players are not in the preferred starting lineup which means the future of the Hawks looks bright.

The Atlanta Hawks have tremendous talent under 25 years old

The Hawks have three players who are 24 years old this season. Collins and De’Andre Hunter are in the starting lineup and Skylar Mays is one of the two-way contracts. Starting point guard Young is 23, as is the best glue man Kevin Huerter.

Cam Reddish is 22 with second-year man Onyeka Okongwu and rookie two-way player Sharife Cooper both being 21. Exciting rookie prospect Jalen Johnson is the youngest on the team at just 20 years of age.

The Hawks have two players who are between 25 and 30, These are both in the starting lineup. Clint Capela is the Hawks’ starting center and is only 27, while Bogdan Bogdanovic is the starting shooting guard and is just 29 years of age.

If you look around the NBA, you will not find a better core of players under 25, and if you add the two players who are under 30 you can easily see why the executives voted the way that they did. The only other team that got more than 10 percent of the vote was the Houston Rockets making it easy to see that the Hawks’ future is the brightest in the league by far.
