The Atlanta Hawks lost their second preseason game in a row. However, this one was a little closer than the first game with the Hawks going down by three points to the Cleveland Cavaliers at State Farm Arena.

The Hawks starting five looked different again in this game with Gorgui Dieng manning the pivot, John Collins and De’Andre Hunter in the frontcourt, Kevin Huerter, and Delon Wright starting in the backcourt. Wright started in place of the injured Trae Young, who was being rested as it is only the preseason and the Hawks want to make sure he is there for the games that matter.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Wright went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter and would not return. It did bring Sharife Cooper to the court and as a result, we got to see an insane John Collins dunk which will be a highlight all year.

Atlanta Hawks wing Cam Reddish turned the game on its head.

While Cam Reddish had one of the worst plus/minus stats for the game, he was huge in the third quarter comeback which almost turned the result of the game in the Hawks favor. He was incredible from deep on his way to 20 points for the game. It was an incredible performance where even the heat-checks went in.

Reddish had five steals for the game which is a true display of his talent. This is something that Reddish needs to employ more if he is going to continue to press for greater amounts of playing time during the regular season.

In a game that produced one of the dunks of the year, Reddish almost produced the assist of the year as well. With time running down in the third period, Reddish poked the ball free. Then, falling out of bounds at one end, he spun in mid-air, passing the ball the length of the court to an open Kevin Huerter, who ended up missing the shot as time expired.

With the Hawks resting so many of their stars, it was great to see what Reddish could do on the floor. He and Hunter are certainly a tantalizing duo to have back on the court after missing so much of last season and the Hawks may yet go deeper into the playoffs, particularly if Reddish keeps up this level of play.
