The Atlanta Hawks G-League affiliate the College Park Skyhawks play basketball again soon and they will do it with some quality players. Not only do they have their two-way players Sharife Cooper and Skylar Mays, but they also have three new players courtesy of the G-League draft

They had the second pick in all three rounds and with the second pick of the third round, the 58th pick, they selected guard Landon Taliaferro. The former member of Fairfield University is an excellent 3-point shooter, finishing just outside the top-10 of their all-time leaders for the College.

Their second-round pick for the Skyhawks was guard  Kalob Ledoux out of Louisiana Tech who also played a part of 2021 in Europe professionally. A good scorer in college, he had a career-high seven assists while playing in Europe.

Could the Atlanta Hawks be interested in the second overall pick?

The second overall pick in the G-League draft was Tyler Hagedorn, a 6’10” power forward out of South Dakota. He spent four years at the college and in his senior year was able to average 18.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 29.8 minutes per game.

He hit 51.4 percent of his 4.4 attempts from deep in his final college season. This is an incredible number, and if he is able to develop, he could have a career similar to Danilo Gallinari. Obviously, the big Italian has done it at a much higher level, but you have to start somewhere and if Hagedorn can shoot at this level in the G-League, there is no telling where he could end up.

The Skyhawks have not played in almost two seasons but they are developing a solid squad to play in the upcoming season which starts next month. When the Skyhawks do take the court, they are going to be focused on the development of a large number of players, Hagedorn will be at the top of that list.
