The Atlanta Hawks took the win against the Washington Wizards in a game that was crucial to setting up for the next six games, five of which are on the road. The Hawks have been really struggling on the road to start the season.

Part of the reason for this is that their team has not been fully healthy. Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams have missed the first part of the season and now look to have their legs under them. On top of that, the Hawks have been returning Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter, and Clint Capela to their lineup very gently.

In fact, Capela has been on a minutes restriction and has not looked at the top of his game yet. His movement has been restricted a little and has not been able to get into games as much. This is not the main reason that they Hawks have been losing, that is becuase their offense has been struglling on so many levels.

The Atlanta Hawks look so much better with Clint Capela scoring.

Capela scored 16 points against the Wizards which is a really good sign for the Hawks. The reason for this is that Capela does not really have the ability to create his own shot. This means that there has to be plenty of player movement as well as the all-improtant ball movement.

Three Hawks players had six assists on the night, with backup point guard Delon Wright having three in just 12 minutes of play. When you combine Capela’s numbers with the assist numbers, what you get is extremely efficient offense.

This then means that the opposing center needs to stay at home on Capela or there is a guaranteed bucket on the pass. The effect this has is opening up the lane for Young and the rest of the offense to hit easier shots nearer the rim. This is the only way that Capela is able to help with florr spacing and when he is on, the Hawks offense hums.
