The Atlanta Hawks are not in the best place after ten games of the season. They have a 4-6 record and are sitting in the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference. This is not the position they fancised themselves in at the start of the season.

Trae Young has not been in the form that he displayed during the playoffs last season. He did say recently that he was struggling to find some motivation for the regular season saying that he finds it boring compared to the playoffs.

However, lacking motivation does not excuse the fact that up until the Phoenix Suns game, Young has been shooting at 28.6 percent from beyond the arc. This number is unacceptible for the superstar point guard as it has an impact on the rest of his offense.

The Atlanta Hawks need Trae Young firing to succeed.

Young responded to the poor performances that the team had showed on the road with a double-double with 31 points and 13 assists. He shot the ball better from beyond the 3-point line, going 4-of-9 which was good for 44.4 percent.

However, the problem for the Hawks is that his offensive game is still not firing on all cylinders. When he is truly on, Young rarely gets his shot blocked and yet against the Suns, who were missing their starting center, Young was blocked three times last game.

He is also still battling with an issue which has plagued him since the start of his NBA career. He had six turnovers which took away a little from his 13 assists. When Young does not turn the ball over, the Hawks are a difficult team to beat.

While part of this is the rest of the team is not on at times, Young is the leader of the offense and the superstar of the team. He needs to take complete ownership of the losses, and work harder on the aspects of the game that he can control to help the team bounce back.
