Atlanta Hawks stud from collapse versus Warriors: Bogdan Bogdanovic gave consistent effort

A beacon of hope despite the team’s recent slide, Bogdan Bogdanovic has been one of the Hawks most consistent players over the last two games and, really, over the entire season. The sharpshooting wing is averaging 17.5 points on 45.2 percent shooting over their last two contests while going 14-of-31 from three-point range.

He had 17 points on 50 percent shooting overall and 3-of-8 shooting from downtown in the loss to Golden State.

Bogi was one of few to come close to equal production in both halves of this game and the only one for which that was a good thing.

Even more encouraging was his defense.

Bogdanovic has been one of the worst defenders on the team this season, allowing opponents to shoot 47.4 percent when he guards them. He held his primary assignments Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee, and Jordan Poole to a combined 4-of-13.

He’s one of the few Hawks who can say Curry didn’t get buckets on their head as he held him to 0-for-2, finishing the game with a 35.3 defended field goal percentage, third-best on the team.

Bogdanovic hadn’t been doing many of the other things that made him stand out despite being injured during the later stages of the Hawks playoff run last season. Aside from his defense slipping, he hasn’t yet shown the same playmaking ability and hasn’t taken the ball away as often.

He only had one board against the Warriors but hauled in seven a game prior versus the Suns. Now would be a great time for all of the myriad facets of Bogdanovic’s game to come together.
