The Atlanta Hawks have been able to put their six game losing streak behind them when they came home and beat the Milwaukee Bucks. They then followed that up with a relatively easy victory against the Orlando Magic.

They have struggled on the road during the first part of the season. However, when they are at home the Hawks become world beaters, they have made State Farm Arena a fortress. This is pretty common amongst younger teams, and the core of the Hawks is still pretty young.

Lou Williams is one of the older players, and his numbers actually reflect what is happeneing with the team. Part of this has been rotationally based, but mostly his numbers have reflected where he has been playing, on the road or at home.

The Atlanta Hawks have seen the best of Lou Williams at home.

So far this season, Williams has averages 6.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.6 steals in 11.9 minutes per game. He has only appears in 10 of the 14 games that the Hawks have played this season, five at home and five on the road.

While the other numbers in his game have stayed pretty steady, his points per game production has been vastly different. On the road, Williams has averaged 4.0 points per game on 33.3 percent from the field. His 3-point shot has been good, shooting 40.0 percent on 2-of-5 shooting.

At home his points production doubles with Williams collecting 8.0 points per game. He is hitting 42.1 percent from the floor. His 3-point shooting is worse, with him hitting 3-of-10 from beyond the arc which is only good for 30.0 percent. Mind you, if he hit one more 3-point shot at home, he would have had the same percentage.

However, the last two games have seen Williams return to his most dangerous. He has gone for 10.0 points per game in this period, going at 56.3 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc. He has taken the scoring pressure of the second unit and they have flourished as a result.

The Hawks are hoping that Williams can keep this up for the rest of the homestand. If he can, the Hawks will be able to get their season back on track meaning that they will join Williams in saying there is no place like home.
