Atlanta Hawks dud from fourth-straight win: Bogi can just chalk this one up

It hasn’t been as rocky for Bogdan Bogdanovic as it has for the team as a whole this season. He even averaged 15 points on their road trip. It hasn’t always been efficient, but he has only scored fewer than 10 points five times all season. The issue is that those kinds of outings have occurred four times in the last nine games after happening just once over the first seven.

Bogdanovic has gone from shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and 45.2 percent from three over that opening stretch — where the Hawks went 4-3 — down to 41.4 percent overall and 34.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Against the Hornets, he had just seven points on 33.3 percent shooting. What’s worse is he went 1-for-5 from deep.

On the year,  he’s averaging 11.9 points on 44 percent shooting and 38 percent from downtown.

All of those are down from his numbers last season as he has struggled to find his rhythm consistently. He’s made up for it in volume, being just .2 attempts per game behind Reddish for third on the team despite being sixth in points on the homestand.

You expect him to be near the top in attempts on the team but the points are a disappointment.

Still, he has been a positive contributor more often than not.

The Hawks need that more than anything as we have yet to see a team outside of the Golden State Warriors looked much better than everyone else.

Atlanta will need him to be sharper going forward. But it is a positive sign that his confidence appears high as ever. He also defended much better in this one than he has been, holding his matchups to 28.6 shooting and just 1-of-3 triples in his coverage.
