The Atlanta Hawks injury crisis may appear to be abating with Cam Reddish being a game time decision against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Onyeka Okongwo being assigned to the G League. However, the Hawks received the worst possible news with regards to Solomon Hill.

In a freak incident against the Timberwolves in the first half, Hill almost performed the splits on court. This led to him coming off straight away and while it was under his own steam it looked like the injury may not have been too bad.

Well, that was certianly not the case for Hill and the Hawks with the veteran undergoing an MRI. This revealed that Hill had torn the hamstring off the bone meaning that he would miss the rest of the season.  While this is not the end of the world for the Hawks it is certianly going to impact their rotation in the short term.

The Atlanta Hawks need to shorten their wing rotation ever more.

The Hawks have a rookie wing who can play multiple positions. It would be great to see Jalen Johnson get some minutes to show what he is capable of. This would mean that they Hawks get to see some more of him before they probably want to.

Danilo Gallinari has stepped up over the past few games and when he is in the lineup it allows the Hawks to play John Collins and Clint Capela in a big lineup which is hard to defend. His shoioting stroke has come back over this time and the Hawks have been the beneficiary.

Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot has started to make himself comfortable in the Hawks rotation. Since starting he is playing big minutes but due to his defensive mindset, he is fouling a lot, something that he needs to change if the Hawks are going to get through this period.

However, what will make things a lot easier for the Hawks is if Cam Reddish is able to overcome his wrist injury and become available. There could be a case made for Luwawu-Cabarrot to stay starting and bringing Reddish in off the bench.
