Atlanta Hawks stud from encouraging win: The starting bigs stepped on both ends of the floor

As good as the others mentioned before were, this game was about the bigs with Embiid and Tobias Harris matching up with Onyeka Okongwu and John Collins, respectively.ย  Embiid had a game-high 23 points but he had to work to get there, shooting 35.3 percent overall. He made up for it by going 2-for-2 from deep and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.

Okongwu held him to 5-of-14 shooting while Collins kept him at two points on 1-of-2 shooting.

The Sixers big man went for 28 points and 11 boards in the last outing while shooting 43.5 percent from the floor.

Harris didnโ€™t suit up in the previous matchup but did lead Philly with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the first meeting, which they won going away, with Embiid held to just 19 points on 38.5 percent shooting.

He had 16 points on 35.7 percent shooting in this one, needing to go 6-for-6 at the stripe to get there going 2-for-4 against Collins for six of his points. He did have a bit more success against Okongwu going 3-for-5 on the USC product.

Offensively, Collins had 17 points, five boards, one assist, and one steal. 12 of those points came on Harrisโ€™ head on 5-of-7 shooting. Meanwhile, Okongwu chipped in 13 points, eight boards, three assists, three blocks, and one steal. He got eight of his points while shooting 4-of-7 with Embiid on him.

Collins praised the energy Okongwu brought despite the loss to the Magic on Wednesday and it was apparent in this one as well.
