A season on from being traded by the Atlanta Hawks to the LA Clippers, Rajon Rondo is on the move again. He has moved around the NBA a bit in the past year with stints with Atlanta, the Clippers, then the Clippers traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies then waived the veteran which forced him to find a new home. That was back with the Los Angeles Lakers where he was expected to go back to being the playoff-caliber point guard that helped the Lakers with the title in the bubble season.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, who are the oldest team in the league, Rondo has not been able to help them reclaim the old glory. Instead, he has only managed averages of 3.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game, numbers similar to his time with the Hawks. This is a far cry from his best but at the age of 35, there are not many players who can say that they are still up there.

Why the Cleveland Cavaliers wanted the Ex Atlanta Hawks guard, Rajon Rondo.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are having a crisis at their guard positions. While they still have Darius Garland, their point guard ranks are a little thin. They lost Collin Sexton earlier in the season with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

On top of that, they just lost veteran point guard Ricky Rubio to a torn ACL in his left knee meaning that they are down realistically to just Garland. Having Rondo as an experienced player will help guide this young, inexperienced team in a manner that helps them grow. This is what the Hawks hoped when they signed him but these expectations were not met.

Next. The Hawks have a right to be frustrated with the league. dark

They have surprised the rest of the NBA with the way that they are playing. However, without the experience of Rubio, there is a chance that they will go back to being a sub-playoff team. They will be hoping that the experience of Rondo, a two-time NBA champion, will help guide them through the rest of the season.
