The Atlanta Hawks have started to get on a roll, winning their last three games at home. Part of this is the fact that they have almost all of their key players back, meaning that the College Park Skyhawks have received both of the picks in the 2021 NBA draft back.

Sharife Cooper struggled a little to fit back into a team that is being led by Cat Barber at the moment. The guard is showing why he was called up by the Atlanta Hawks during the Covid-19 crisis, collecting a double-double 20 points, and 11 assists in the 129-119 win over the G-League Ignite.

Jalen Johnson came back into the team and looked like he never left. His 21 points, nine rebounds, and five assists were crucial in helping the Skyhawks get the win. However, the story of the game was again the stellar play of Justin Tillman.

The Atlanta Hawks need to somehow secure the services of Justin Tillman.

Just a few games after announcing himself to the league, Tillman produced a season-high 35 points. This was the fourth-straight 30 point game for Tillman which is impressive for a rookie, especially given the flux which has been the starting lineup of the Skyhawks.

Tillman is performing at such a high level that he will be garnering interest from other teams around the league. The G League has a history of producing some quality players that have made it in the NBA.

The problem for the Hawks signing Tillman is that the Hawks already have three centers on the roster. Clint Capela is one of the best rebounders and defenders in the league, Onyeka Okongwu is fast becoming the x-factor that is helping the Hawks climb back out of their early-season hole.

The Hawks have an open roster spot, the Skyhawks want to fill it. dark. Next

The Hawks have Gorgui Dieng as a point of difference at the center position, given that he can shoot the long ball. However, he is not being played at the moment. On top of this, the Hawks have a free roster spot where they could promote Skylar Mays and sign Tillman to a two-way deal, keeping him with the franchise.
