Why the Orlando Magic say yes to this Atlanta Hawks trade.

The Magic are in the middle of a rebuild which was started when they traded most of their top-end players, receiving quality younger players and draft capital in return. They have such a good core of Cole Anthony, Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, and Wendell Carter jr. to name a few.

They have so many young players who have two or fewer years of experience in the league that adding a player like Huerter is like adding a veteran. He has experienced two playoff series and can work with the players in order to help them understand what it is like to get better. Remember that Huerter started his time in the league on losing teams with the Hawks.

On top of Huerter, the Magic get another young stud to work into their rotation in the form of Johnson. The 20th pick in the 2021 NBA draft spent most of last season developing in the G League. While it would hurt to lose him, the prospect of landing Davis is incredible.

They would only have to give up Hampton and Wagner in order to get the quality player of Huerter and the potential of Johnson. Both of these players have multiple years left on their deals which will allow for the rebuilding process to have some more clarity.
