The Atlanta Hawks are looking to fix their roster, not have a massive overhaul according to Travis Schlenk. In this light, they need to trade some of their players to fix their issues and the Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly made a large number of their role players available.

According to Tyler Conway of Bleacher Report, the 76ers are looking at their options with regards to Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz, Shake Milton, and veteran Danny Green. Let’s take a look at the merits of each of these players for the Hawks.

The first of these players is Green. The former San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors championship player injured his ACL in the playoffs last season and will not be an on-court contributor next season. This is the second season in a row that Green has been unable to finish the season due to injury.

Are there any reasons the Atlanta Hawks should trade for Danny Green?

Green is an NBA veteran who has won championships with two franchises, so is a quality voice in the locker room. However, the Hawks are not at the point where they could trade away some of their young talented players just to get a good locker room voice.

However, if the Hawks want to shed some of their salary to get make some room, then trading for Green is a good option. His contract next season is worth $10.0 million but it is not guaranteed. The biggest issue is the Hawks would have to give up a core player to make this happen.
