There is one player that the Atlanta Hawks should enquire about

The Hawks’ defense was very suspect last season, that is one of the biggest areas of concern for the team. If they were to trade for Thybulle this problem would be alleviated, not entirely, but Thybulle is a two-time All-NBA defender. He has done this in just three seasons in the league.

Thybulle is not going to take many shots, having averaged only 4.8 points per game over his career. However, he does not have to score much to impact the game. He has also never played with a point guard like Trae Young who is going to pass him open and find him where others could not.

Thybulle is only due $4.3 million next season as a team option. The Hawks would need to trade  Hunter for him but Thybulle is considered a better defender. The Hawks would also be able to extend Thybulle for a lower cost. This would hurt a bit considering that Hunter was one of the best players of the postseason and also was the only player to step up in the final game of their playoff loss to the Miami Heat.

However, it is this sort of roster adjustment which could be the difference between the Hawks having to get to the playoffs through the play-in tournament again. Had they had that short break rather than playing two high-intensity games, we may have seen a different team. Thybulle has the ability to help make this happen on the defensive end.
