Goals for Atlanta Hawks reserve point guard Aaron Holiday No. 1) Break into the rotation

While it would be wise to give Holiday a role with the team next season, there are no guarantees in the NBA. With Trae Young, Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Tyrese Martin on the roster, there is going to be some serious competition for minutes at the guard position.

As mentioned earlier, Holiday does not just have his playmaking ability to break into the rotation. He has played defense on his brother’s, which has honed his abilities on that end of the floor. This will be a crucial piece of the puzzle that will allow Holiday to push his case.

Holiday’s role should be to keep the Hawks going in the right direction at the end of the first and third periods as well as the start of the second and fourth. This will give the stars a chance to rest a little so that they can perform at the end of games to help the Hawks win.

Last season head coach Nate McMillan showed that if you play well enough he will start rewarding you with minutes. He did this with Delon Wright, so there is no reason that Holiday cannot earn himself some decent playing time.
