Goals for Atlanta Hawks reserve point guard Aaron Holiday No. 2) Earn his next contract

This goal for Holiday is tied in with the previous goal. As shown by the Gorgui Dieng experiment from last season. If you do not get playing time to justify another contract, then you will not come back the following year. Dieng signed on with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent this offseason.

So, in order to earn the next deal, Holiday needs to show the Atlanta Hawks that he is worthy of one which means he needs to take the court with regularity. In order to do this, he needs to take the pressure off the Hawks stars, it is that simple.

Holiday is the best third-string point guard that the Hawks have had in the time that Young has been on the floor. For those wondering, Young is the primary point guard, Murray is the secondary and Holiday is the third-stringer.

For an NBA team to navigate the regular season and then the postseason on the way to a title, they need to have solid depth. Holiday is in the correct window in terms of age to develop with this team. If he can do that then he will help the Hawks remain relevant in the Eastern Conference for the foreseeable future.
