Looking at the Atlanta Hawks’ second long road trip for the season

The Hawks’ next long road trip is a combination of a two-game road trip with a game against the Chicago Bulls at home before they embark on a three-game road trip. This means that the Hawks are basically going to be on the road for a third of the month of December.

Fortunately for the Hawks’ the first two games of the road trip are pretty close to each other. They play the Knicks in New York then cross the river and take on the Brooklyn Nets. This is going to be an interesting matchup, especially with the Nets as their offseason may have caused irreparable damage to the team’s chemistry.

Then the Hawks take on the Bulls at State Farm Arena and this matchup is relevant in terms of the road trip as it is the first part of a back-to-back. They then travel to take on the Memphis Grizzlies, a surprise packet from last season. If the Hawks can take this matchup then they will go a long way to gaining the self-belief that they need to be a high playoff seed again.

The Hawks should then be able to finish out the road trip in a positive manner, taking on the Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Hornets. While these teams are expected to be competitive, they have not managed to have a strong offseason, meaning that they should be very beatable for the Hawks.
