Looking at the Atlanta Hawks’ third long road trip for the season.

The third long road trip for the Hawks sees them California bound. This road trip is at the start of January and the NBA did not do the Hawks any favors. If the Hawks have a positive record this month then they are likely to contend in the Eastern Conference.

This is the hardest full month of the schedule for the Hawks and it starts off with a trip to Oracle Arena to take on last season’s NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors. Hopefully, this is the toughest game of the month for the Hawks.

They are then hosted by the Sacramento Kings where they will catch up with former teammate Kevin Huerter and company. There are many pundits who believe that the Kings won the offseason and this should prove to be an interesting matchup.

Their final stop on this Californian Swing is in Los Angeles. The first take on the Los Angeles Lakers before coming back to take on the LA Clippers two nights later. It shows how the balance of power in the NBA has shifted when you think that the preferred matchup of these two games is LeBron James and the Lakers. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George et al present a much tougher matchup.
