Looking at the Atlanta Hawks’ fifth long road trip for the season.

The last road trip for the Hawks is against all Eastern Conference opponents. In fact, this four-game road trip is only against two opponents, the Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards. This last road trip is at the start of March.

Of course, nothing is simple this season. The Hawks play a home game against the Portland Trail Blazers before traveling to take on the Miami Heat on the first game of this road trip. Like they did on their first long road trip of the season, the Hawks then wait two days to take on the same opponent on their floor as they take on the Heat two nights later.

The Hawks then go to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards. Again, they play the same opponent twice in three nights which is a quirk of the fixture. This is part of how the NBA has worked on reducing traveling miles for all teams in the league.

However, despite playing three of these matchups on the road, the Hawks do not host the same opponent twice on their home floor. Hopefully, the NBA will fixture this for next season. This is just another fixture quirk that the Hawks have to navigate into what will hopefully be a high playoff seed.
