The Atlanta Hawks are so close to kicking off the 2022-23 NBA season. There is still just under a month until the regular season kicks off but there is so much to do between now and then. It all starts on September 23rd with media day.

This is the first time that the media will get officially introduced to the new players. There is obviously going to be great interest in Dejounte Murray who the Hawks traded for at the start of the offseason but they are yet to have any official dealings with him.

Still, there are other players who the Hawks have signed over the offseason who the media have no official dealings with yet. They have Frank Kaminsky, Justin Holiday, Aaron Holiday, and Maurice Harkless, the two-way players as well as their draftees. After the last offseason where the Hawks focussed on player retention, this is will be a large influx of players.

The Atlanta Hawks have a lot of work to do prior to the season starting.

After media day the Hawks will go straight into training camp. They will then jet out to the Middle East to create history in their preseason matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks before heading home to play their final two games of the preseason.

They will need to cut down their roster prior to the regular season starting. This will not mean that they will have their roster determined for the whole season, that decision may not be made until the trade deadline when the Hawks are actually considered as strong contenders to make a trade.

Once they have completed their preseason, they need to figure out their rotations as the regular season starts. The good thing is the month of October is a relatively easy start to the season which means that the Hawks have some time to work this out.

Now, all that needs to happen is for time to speed up so that this all starts now. The build-up for this season is going to be amazing and exciting.
