One of the many players that the Atlanta Hawks bought in over the offseason was Frank Kaminsky. While their main goal of the offseason was to improve their defense, Kaminsky is not known for his prowess on that end of the floor.

However, the second goal was to add leadership to the squad and Kaminsky believes that he is able to make up for his defensive deficiencies with his experience. Kaminsky may not be able to stop plays when they are happening but he is the first to call out what the opposition is doing if he can.

This is an ability that he has developed during his time in the league and he can do this when he is both on and off the court. This is something that he can bring to the team which will help them. While the Hawks players are usually engaged on the bench but if he can help develop the younger players understanding and engagement then this will be a tremendous addition.

What other benefits does Frank Kaminsky see that he will bring to the Atlanta Hawks?

Aside from being a loud voice on defense, Kaminsky is going to be a key member of the Hawks’ offense, especially in the pick and roll. Kaminsky has a tremendous shooting stroke for a big man and is certainly not shy to pick and pop. This is going to make life easier for both Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.

Where Kaminsky will be able to fit into the offense better than most new players is that he has experience playing with one of the best pass-first point guards ever in Chris Paul. This preparation allows Kaminsky to understand where he needs to be to receive the pass from either Young or Murray.
