Four major predictions for the 2022/23 Atlanta Hawks
There is no greater indication that Atlanta Hawks basketball is around the corner than the start of training camps and media day. Hawks players and staff have been busy at work getting in shape, taking team photos, answering questions from the media, and ultimately preparing for their preseason opener on October 6th.
Needless to say, the 2022/23 season for the Hawks is one of lofty expectations given the ambition shown in the offseason. The last two seasons producing playoff berths and a deep playoff run have set the tone for the direction of this franchise. From both an internal and external perspective of the team, having a winning ball club that draws fans is the absolute minimum necessity this year.
Now with what is certainly the strongest Hawks squad since the acquisition of Trae Young, it is up to the players and coaching staff to execute and for the fans to support them in order to see those dreams fulfilled.
Questions will naturally arise throughout the grind of a 6-month, 82-game season, and until the season starts, we as fans can only speculate on some of the events that may play out.
What might we see from the Atlanta Hawks this season?
Certain individual goals and team milestones will likely be already set for this season, but what might some of them look like? For a team that is clearly in “win now” mode, is any accomplishment too daunting? Which players have something to prove, and how might the Hawks respond to the hype around the organization?
This article is aggressive, yet realistic in exploring four of these season-long possibilities.
