Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report took a look into the best NBA offenses for next season and came up with the top five teams. One team that had the best offense in the NBA last season, the Utah Jazz, will not be up there this season. The Atlanta Hawks had the second-best offense in the league last season and should be there again this season.

The projected fifth-ranked team for next season is the Milwaukee Bucks. Since the trade for Jrue Holiday, the Bucks have always been in the top-five offenses. This is not likely to change as long as they have Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Holiday.

Swartz then believes that the New Orleans Pelicans will have the fourth-ranked offense. They added CJ McCollum to the team last year and with Brandon Ingram he turned this team around. However, the Pelicans are going to welcome back Zion Williamson in what is expected to be a tremendous boost to the team.

Why Greg Swartz was wrong to rank the Atlanta Hawks at number three.

As you guessed by the headline, the Hawks were ranked at No. 3 by Swartz. While the Brooklyn Nets are projected the be the second-best offense, this is only if and when they click. Given the offseason that was, this appears unlikely, even with the talents of Ben Simmons in the fold. There is a good reason that the Hawks were blessed to fall out of the running for Kevin Durant.

Then there wasthe Denver Nuggets who were sixth last season with only Nikola Jokic as the main focal point. Jamal Murray is back and Michael Porter jr is hopefully back to full fitness. This means that the Nuggets will be good but why will they be better than the Hawks?

The Hawks were second in the league last season and they only improved their starting five. The ball is going to move at incredible speed as two unselfish guards who simply want to win. There is a level of disrespect again for the Hawks as Young was able to lead the Hawks to these heights by himself.

Swartz signs Jokic’s praises because he was able to carry the Nuggets to sixth by himself. Newsflash, Young took the Hawks even higher offensively. All we need to do now is sit back and watch the Hawks’ chemistry develop. Dejounte Murray is going to have a massively positive impact on this team.
