Zach LaVine and a 2027 first-round pick for Trae Young

A truly blockbuster trade, this would be two teams switching the faces of their franchise. The Chicago Bulls have also underperformed, not even making the playoffs, and could possibly be involved in a lot of trade rumors this offseason. Since Zach Lavine is four years older than Young, a first-round pick would have to be included. They make the same salary next season so cap issues in this trade wouldn’t represent a problem.

The Bulls are a bottom-10 offense in the league, and the injury of Lonzo Ball has a lot to do with that. They need another great point guard, sooner rather than later. Young would be an instant fit, boosting their offense and leading the way for others to shine. If Ball could somehow return during next season, they would no doubt be a solid contender.

On the other hand, Lavine on the Hawks doesn’t sound bad at all. A 6-foot-5 dunking machine with an offensive bag deeper than the fryer at a fast food joint, with solid defense.

When paired up at the No. 2 spot with Murray this team could be lethal, and could also provide the bigs with more opportunities, as both of these guys love driving to the basket and dishing to the open big down low.

A more sizeable team wins more games in 2023.
