Despite a turbulent season, the Atlanta Hawks rebounded well in the play-in and the first round of the NBA playoffs. First, by overcoming the Miami Heat in the play-in game to secure the seventh seed, the Hawks established a willingness to fight. Then, pushing back against the heavily-favored Boston Celtics to nearly force them to seven games, Atlanta showed the situation, while in need of change, was not as dire as many believed.
Many believed that the Hawks could be looking at a complete revamp this offseason as trade rumors began to follow star Trae Young more and more. While the rumors around Young have likely quite down after his performance in the second round, there are plenty of other players who are primed to hit the trade block this upcoming offseason.
Now with plenty of time to reflect on the season and make the proper changes to avoid a repeat in the upcoming year, Landry Fields and the rest of the Hawks front office will likely look to be active this summer.
