Clint Capela, C

Clint Capela came into the NBA out of Switzerland in 2014 and spent six productive years with the Houston Rockets during which he averaged 12.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks. During that time Capela established himself as one of the best rebounders in the league (especially on the offensive glass) as well as a productive lob threat and a respectable rim protector.

Those attributes are why the Hawks inquired about the Swiss big man’s services, eventually acquiring him in a four-team trade in February 2020. Capela was a key cog in Atlanta’s Cinderella run to the Conference Finals in 2021, averaging 10.1 points and 11.2 rebounds.

Capela has had fruitful pick and roll chemistry with the likes of elite guards such as Trae Young and James Harden. When you combine that with his offensive rebounding acumen—he was third in that category this season with 4.0 per game—Capela looks like a very intriguing option if you can look past his struggles from the three-point and free throw lines.

Next. 3 Hawks that earned untouchable status, 4 that should be cut loose. dark
