If that wasn’t bad enough, he had a personal foul and needed to be yanked by Quin Snyder.
Hawks fans have slowly lost hope throughout season, and it feels over now. Risacher has no confidence and just got benched after two playoff minutes. Coach Snyder can’t go back to him in Game 2. The Hawks need every small edge they can get to upset the Knicks, and Atlanta will lose any minutes with the 21-year-old on the floor.
This shouldn’t surprise fans. The Hawks had a negative-0.7 net rating with Risacher on the floor during the regular season and were 6.2 points per 100 possessions better without him. Everyone knew things were bad, and they just got worse. There is no coming back from this playoff opener.
