Atlanta’s newest starting point guard, Kingston Flemings, is already showing signs of growth in his first nine games. Fans are thrilled about his development, but now that the NCAA season has begun, it’s time to scout yet another future Hawk.

The Hawks will get the least favorable pick between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks, meaning they're still likely to land a lottery pick.

Hugo Yimga-Moukouri, F, Nanterre 92

With the Hawks having traded Zaccharie Risacher, and Dorian Finney-Smith still not making an impact, it’d be wise to draft a new wing for the second unit. The international market has been good to Atlanta, giving them Dyson Daniels, and Yimga-Moukouri could pan out as well.

The 6’9" wing can jump out of the gym. Whether he's rising to block a shot or catching a lob, he’s shown an impressive vertical.

Head Coach Quin Snyder's system would amplify his athletic gifts on both ends. The Hawks are known for their pace on the fast break, and Hugo runs the floor well.

He’ll be another big body for Jalen Johnson to lob the ball to on the fast break after grabbing a defensive rebound. If he’s not catching lobs, Yimga-Moukouri can space the floor with his three-point shooting.

His long-range shot is a weakness, shooting just 29.7%. It’ll definitely be a project if he joins the Hawks, but he has a quick release, so there’s certainly potential there.

If the Hawks develop Yimga-Moukouri the way they did Daniels, Atlanta could have another 3&D wing in the second unit. He’ll improve his perimeter defense even more over time. Hugo’s build is already suited to defend the rim.

At just 18 years old, he weighs 230 pounds and has a 6’10" wingspan. Despite his youth, he has all the tools to become a quality NBA player.

Dylan Mingo, G, Baylor

Some people will read this and question why the Hawks would draft another point guard. Uncertainty is the answer.

CJ McCollum - Atlanta's veteran guard - signed a one-year, $20 million deal, but he’s closer to retirement than ever. Although he is still playing at a high level, his services are very expensive.

President of Basketball Operations Onsi Saleh has financial issues to address next summer, like Onyeka Okongwu’s potential contract extension. The 25-year-old could seek a raise, and 27-year-old Lu Dort will be an unrestricted free agent.

Both of them are vital to the Hawks’ future success, and they will not be cheap. So, if they draft Mingo, he could be McCollum’s cheap replacement.

Standing at 6’5", he is a strong finisher at the rim. His dexterity has led to some eye-opening layups on his highlight reel. The Hawks could use another aggressive guard off the bench to keep the quick flow going.

Mingo can also hold his own on defense. He was named Nike EYBL 17U Defensive MVP in 2025. It’s an impressive feat considering defensive standouts Beckham Black and Tyran Stokes were also playing.

Compared to these two future stars, Dylan has flown under the radar of many fans. Most mock drafts have him going in the late-lottery, so Atlanta landing him is a real possibility.

Braylon Mullins, G, UConn

Last but certainly not least, UConn guard Braylon Mullins’ has a playstyle that would fit like a glove with the Hawks.

His offensive upside is there for any patient team willing to develop it. The 19-year-old has shown flashes of being a sharpshooter, most notably during his performance against Providence last season.

Mullins shot 6-10 from the beyond the three-point line in the Huskies' 103-98 victory. He displayed top-notch form, and his consistency could improve with the Hawks' training staff. They worked wonders for Okongwu’s jump shot, so the same could happen for Braylon.

Since he’ll likely land near the bottom of the lottery, the Hawks could give Flemings another good shooter for the future with this selection.
