Atlanta Hawks fans have been wanting Jaylen Brown for years. Being from the city and representing the home teams whenever he gets the chance, Brown has never shied away from adding fuel to the fire. The star forward appeared on a recent V-103 radio show and entertained a bold question from Atlanta's PA Announcer, Big Tigger.
After winning a championship with the Boston Celtics and being named Finals MVP, Brown's legacy in Boston is cemented. Despite the constant trade rumors and national media trying to get him out of town, JB has remained solid on and off the court.
With training camp for all 30 NBA teams beginning in less than a month, Brown is still at home in Atlanta. In that downtime, he made an appearance on The Big Tigger Morning Show, where he responded to a direct question about a potential homecoming:
"You never know," Brown replied, "I feel you. I think my grandma would too. You never know, we'll see."

He also revealed that his grandma has been talking to him about playing for the Hawks. Players tend to shut down any question about leaving the team they are on, so Brown entertaining the idea could mean more than people think.
Why would Brown want to leave Boston?
Boston remains directionless after last season's injury to Jayson Tatum. In order to get under the second apron, they traded away two crucial pieces to their 2024 championship run. It started with the trade of defensive ace Jrue Holiday to Portland, followed by the three-team deal sending Kristaps Porzingis to Atlanta.
While it's clear that the Celtics are not looking to compete in the Eastern Conference with Tatum expected to miss the entirety of next season, Brown's goals may not align with the franchise's for long.
Entering his tenth NBA season, Brown is in his prime. He will get an opportunity to showcase his first-option abilities this upcoming season, but he will not have much help along the way. This imbalance in Boston's rotation could lead to him becoming frustrated and requesting out.
At least for now, Brown is not a logical fit in Atlanta. They have spent the past two summers acquiring elite off-ball players to complement Trae Young and Jalen Johnson. If the front office's vision fails to produce on the court over the next few seasons, the possibility of bringing in an expensive star such as Jaylen Brown could become a reality.
