3) Kyle Kuzma

Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma is once again the subject of many trade talks. His career-high 22.2 points per game (in 2.4 fewer minutes than the prior season) boosted his value greatly.

Nobody is safe from the trade block on the rebuilding Wizards, including Kuzma. Atlanta already has the size and versatility of Jalen Johnson, and Kuzma could combine forces with JJ to form one of the most dangerous forward duos in basketball. If the Hawks also drafted Sarr, they would boast an incredibly exciting frontcourt between the No. 1 pick, Johnson, and Kuzma.

Kuzma’s ability to play big or small on the wing could unlock some electric lineups for the Hawks. Kuzma has served as a small-ball five for the Wizards before, and his floor-spacing could open up many possibilities. Onyeka Okongwu’s improved range only adds to the intrigue of a potential five-out offense in Atlanta.

The last time he played the Hawks, Kuzma ripped Atlanta for 29 points in just 27 minutes. That game happened on Jan. 13 when the Wizards were 7-31 on the season.

Much of Kuzma’s impact comes from his explosive drives to the basket and how he can efficiently score and make plays from others with his paint touches. Last season’s Hawks finished in the bottom half of the league in drives per game.

Kuzma also brings championship pedigree to the table thanks to his 2020 title with the Los Angeles Lakers. That kind of experience can only help a team like the Hawks.
