5) Desmond Bane

Desmond Bane might be the most underrated player on this list. Like Markkanen, Bane is probably less gettable than the other three aforementioned stars. Even so, the Memphis Grizzlies just suffered a brutal season marred by injuries to essentially all of their key contributors and leaders.

Bane missed 40 games of action, but he averaged 23.7 points on 38.1% shooting from distance when he did see the court. Without Ja Morant for a vast majority of the season, Bane saw a jump in his playmaking. His increased ball-handling responsibilities and usage rate resulted in a career-high 5.5 assists per game.

Ja Morant and Marcus Smart will both return from lengthy injuries. While Bane has played his way into the hearts of many Grizzlies fans, Memphis could view him as a potential asset who raised his trade value while Morant and Smart were out.

Bane’s improvement as an on-ball scorer has only heightened the rest of his abilities. At the top of his skill set is his insane off-the-dribble 3-point shooting. He has officially solidified himself as an all-time step-back three specialist.

Armed with one of the deadliest step-back jumpers in NBA history, Bane would fit right into Atlanta’s jumper-heavy offense. The Hawks ranked sixth in threes attempted per game.

While the Grizzlies could very well covet Bane as an untouchable piece, crazier things have happened than a player like Bane hitting the trade market. Even if Memphis is mostly uninterested in dealing Bane, the Hawks would be wise to at least inquire about the shooting guard’s availability.

The Hawks own several future first-round picks and pick swaps, which could come into play as the offseason begins. With draft night quickly approaching, anything could happen for Atlanta on the trade front. Hawks fans will be eager to see the organization's plan of action.
