Breaking down the best prop bets for the Atlanta Hawks-Memphis Grizzlies matchup on March 8.

The Atlanta Hawks have won back-to-back games as they look to navigate life without Trae Young (finger) down the stretch of the 2023-24 season.

The team is favored on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, but Atlanta has the worst road record against the spread in the NBA.

So, since I like the Hawks in this matchup, I’m looking to the prop market for some of my best bets rather than trusting the team to cover.

Atlanta’s guards may have some value in this one, especially Dejounte Murray in one combination prop and Bogdan Bogdanovic in a 3-point prop.

Let’s dive into the picks for this game:

Hawks vs. Grizzlies best NBA prop bets

  • Bogdan Bogdanovic OVER 2.5 3-pointers made
  • Dejounte Murray OVER 15.5 rebounds and assists
  • Vince Williams Jr. OVER 1.5 steals

Bogdan Bogdanovic OVER 2.5 3-pointers made

Bogi has been on fire from deep as of late, hitting three or more shots from beyond the arc in five of his last seven games.

I’m really encouraged by the volume the Hawks sharpshooter is seeing, as he’s taken at least five shots from 3-point range in each of his last 23 games. Over that stretch, he’s averaging 2.9 made 3s per game on 7.7 attempts.

Memphis ranks 19th in the NBA in 3-pointers allowed per game, and the Hawks should look Bogi’s way often with Trae Young out of the lineup. Given his usage, he’s worth a shot at this number.

Dejounte Murray OVER 15.5 rebounds and assists

This prop is coming in at plus money, which shouldn’t be a surprise since Murray has picked up 16 or more rebounds and assists in just three of his last seven games. However, he’s averaging 6.6 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game over that stretch despite a two-assist game his last time out.

Memphis is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA – ranking 26th in the league in rebounding percentage – so I wouldn’t be shocked to see Murray flirt with double-digit boards tonight since he crashes the glass so well for a guard.

Over his last seven games, Murray has matchups with nine rebounds (twice) and 10 rebounds (once).

If he sees his number increase – even just a little – in that category, I think he can go OVER this prop.

Vince Williams Jr. OVER 1.5 steals

I’m riding with Grizzlies wing Vince Williams Jr. to record a fourth straight game with multiple steals, and this prop is at +124 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Williams has seven games with multiple steals over his last 12 contests, and Atlanta ranks 20th in the NBA in opponent steals per game.

Another reason that I like this prop is that Williams has been a key cog in the rotation, playing over 30 minutes in 17 of his last 20 games. That should give him plenty of chances to come away with some steals on Friday night.
