The Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks are looking to keep their respective seasons alive in the play-in tournament on Wednesday night.

I’m looking to the prop market in this game since both of these teams have struggled against the spread (the Bulls as home favorites, the Hawks overall) in the 2023-24 season.

I’m focusing on Trae Young as one of my favorite plays, as he’s been in this scenario and thrived in postseason action before.

Here are my favorite props in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament:

Hawks vs. Bulls best NBA prop bets

  • De’Andre Hunter UNDER 23.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
  • Trae Young OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made
  • DeMar DeRozan OVER 29.5 Points

De’Andre Hunter UNDER 23.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists

De’Andre Hunter will have a bigger role with Jalen Johnson out of the lineup, but I’m fading him in this prop.

In 20 games without Johnson, Hunter is averaging 15.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, failing to clear this line of 23.5 in 13 of those 20 matchups.

Maybe Hunter has a big scoring game to propel him, but I think Young and Dejounte Murray carry that load tonight. I’m going UNDER for Hunter since he’s highly reliant on how many points he scores.

Trae Young OVER 2.5 3-Pointers Made

The Bulls have allowed the second-most 3-pointers per game on the season, so I love this prop for Young after he returned to the lineup to close out the regular season.

Trae shot 37.3 percent from 3 on 8.7 3-point attempts per game (3.2 3-pointers made), and he should get his fair share of shots in a win-or-go-home matchup tonight.

Young shot just 5-for-22 from the 3-point line in two regular-season meetings with Chicago, but the volume is there. He attempted at least 10 3s in each game. Young should thrive in this spot against a weaker defense.

DeMar DeRozan OVER 29.5 Points

DeMar DeRozan closed the season with four 30-point games in a row, and I’m going to take him to do that again with wings Saddiq Bey and Jalen Johnson out for this game.

DeRozan has some playoff demons, but he’s played great for the Bulls since Feb. 1, averaging 27.0 points per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field.

Given his recent hot stretch, I’ll take a shot at DeRozan to score 30 or more.
