The Atlanta Hawks take on the Toronto Raptors in the final game of a six game home-stand. Can they take advantage of Kyle Lowry‘s absence?

The Atlanta Hawks successfully snapped their three game losing streak on Wednesday night. They welcomed the dismal Brooklyn Nets to Philips Arena and came away with a gritty victory. The Nets had a chance to tie in the waning seconds, but the Hawks were able to survive.

A loss to the Nets would have sent the fan-base into complete panic mode. That just comes with the territory for Atlanta sports fans. The overwhelming sense of dread never goes away. There’s always another shoe that’s going to fall. It’s best to push that feeling down and not think about it.

They seem to have successfully put Dennis Schroder‘s controversial benching behind them. Schroder and Dwight Howard are posting adorable pictures on various social media platforms, Mike Budenholzer’s quotes radiate positive vibes, and Schroder had one of his best games of the season against the Nets. Life is good again in Atlanta.

We’ll see how long things stay chummy. The Hawks face a difficult opponent to open the weekend. The Toronto Raptors are in town looking to exact a little revenge for a Dec. 16 loss in Toronto.
