Final Grades: Atlanta Hawks Memorable Season Swept Away

Even the Coach of the Year must learn how to improve himself in the playoffs. Throughout this series, and all three for that matter, it didn’t feel like Mike Budenholzer had the team clicking like it had been clicking since it gained national prominence. Credit injuries and teams adjusting to the Hawks system but, all in all, he had trouble regaining the composure of the ball club.

Tonight specifically, too much settling for jump shots when none were falling and lackadaisical box outs. The postseason looked to have taxed him and his players; just mentally they looked out of steam. Hopefully he and his players will use the experience to grow even better next year.
