According to Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Atlanta Hawks are looking to be buyers at the trade deadline What under the radar moves could they make?

With the trade deadline approaching, numerous reports have stated that the Atlanta Hawks are looking to be buyers at the deadline. However, no report specified exactly in what area the team is looking to improve. Is it trying to add point guard depth? Could it be to land a star? It will be interesting to see what the team’s intentions are over the course of the next few days.

So far, this season has showed the Hawks where they are strong and where they are weak. Their wing-player overload is one of the best and most dynamic in the league. However, their tail-end positions might need improvement.

More from Soaring Down South

Despite Kent Bazemore‘s ability to handle the ball, it is very uncharacteristic for an NBA team to carry less than three pure point guards on their team.

Dennis Schroder and Malcolm Delaney have been exceeding expectations, but they are 23 and 27 respectively.

Having a third point guard, preferably an aged veteran, would prove to have a huge impact on the court and in the locker room. Also, injuries have hurt the backup big-men on the Hawks. It is likely that the front office attempts to bring in a solid backup at those positions.

The playoff run starts now. The team cannot afford to keep winning one and losing one. If the Hawks want to be taken seriously, then they need to heat up. The following trade scenarios would benefit the team tremendously.
