Atlanta Hawks Lose Heartbreaker To Pacers
The Atlanta Hawks fell in a tough game against the Indiana Pacers. What went wrong for Atlanta?
Today the Atlanta Hawks played what could’ve been called the Teague Bowl, as the team welcomed their former starting point guard back to Phillips Arena for the first time as a member of the Indiana Pacers. He received a standing ovation from the fans following a video tribute.
The last time that these two clubs met, Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder squared off head to head, in a highly anticipated game featuring the one time Hawk All-Star and his former understudy.

The match-up between the two was largely over-hyped, as Teague shot 0-for-5 from deep with 11 points and Schroder finished with just 9 points and 3 assists. It was Dwight Howard who dominated the Hawks 96-85 win, with 23 points and 20 rebounds.
Atlanta was coming off of an exhilarating contest Friday with the Cavaliers, that saw them rally back from a 22-point deficit to within a single point late in the fourth quarter, only to lose yet another home game. The Hawks have struggled all season defending the three-point shot, and they gave up an NBA regular season single game record 25 three-pointers to the Cavs.
Atlanta was without head coach Mike Budenholzer for today’s game, who was suspended by the NBA for making contact with an official during Friday night’s 135-130 loss to the Cavs. The incident occurred when he received a technical foul after arguing a no-call late in the third quarter. Assistant Coach Darvin Ham served as the interim head coach in the matinee match-up with the Pacers.
